Creating that WOW-Moment

When visiting music festivals or concerts we all want to experience that WOW-moment. That is exactly what happened to the visitors of the 2012 Coachella music festival. On day 3 of the Coachella Valley Music & Art Festival held at the Empire Polo Field, a collaboration of Dr Dre, AV Concepts, and Digital Domain managed to create a 2D image of the late rapper Tupac Shakur.  Looking at the performance the 2D-image looks so amazingly real, especially when Snoop Dogg takes stage and joins the performance. It is amazing to see how the ad lips and the movements are perfectly fitting the performance.

However, has this performance at the Coachella music festival created a new trend? Will we have concerts of musicians that passed away many years ago? Here at Glow, we think that it was so amazing, just because we had never seen something like this before, and there are a few artists that we would like to see perform.

Let’s wait and see what kind of amazing performances the future will bring us.

The Academy Awards 2012

Yesterday the 84th annual Academy Award, hosted by Billy Chrystal, took place at the Hollywood & Highland Center Theatre. For Billy Chrystal it was the 9th time he hosted the Oscars. The Academy Award started with a big performance and a short over view from 2012.

We had a fun night watching the Academy Award, again it was a show to remember! The first big award of the night went to Octavia Spencer for her role as a sassy Southern housekeeper in ‘The Help’. She received a standing ovation from the audience as she accepted the Best Supporting Actress award. The biggest winner of the night was the black-and-white silent film about old Hollywood, ‘The Artist’.
‘The Artist’ won Best Picture and scored Jean Dujardin the Best Actor Oscar and Michel Hazanvicius Best Director. The 3D film ‘Hugo’ received five Oscars. Legendary actress Meryl Streep received her 3rd Oscar for her role in ‘The Iron Lady’.

Last but not least, we at GLOW are always curious about the red carpet dresses. Six beautiful women chose white as the color of their dresses.
We could not choose between the two beautiful dresses between Viola Davis with her green Vera Wang dress and Michelle Williams with her coral strapless Louis Vuitton.
So which one did you choose?

Valentine’s Day!

The time of the year when we show our loved ones how much we love them, has finally arrived again. Yes! We are excited for Valentine’s Day . Below is a list of items we at GLOW would surely consider when buying our gifts. The most important thing is a gift from the heart will last a lifetime.

~ Tell your partner exactly how much he/she means to you with a handmade Valentine’s Day card

~ Send fresh flowers to your loved ones. The key is how they are delivered. You could have them delivered to his/her place of work or a single red rose with a ring attached to it! (hint, hint)

~ Put your expressions of love into a unique delivery with Personalized Chocolates

~ Write him/her a poem about how much he/she means to you, just say it with words!

~ Cook his/her favorite meal, light some candles, stand the wine in ice, and light background music will set the scene for a perfect romantic dinner!

~ Have a favorite photo of the two of you and put it in a nice frame, you two will be picture perfect!

~ A heart locket for her with a photo of the 2 of you in side, or a piece of jewelry with a message on it is the perfect way to say is with Jewelry!

~ Plan a nice, romantic trip for the two of you! Go to a spa, a romantic city, or to the beach! It will definitely be the perfect get away!

~ To make it romantic in the morning, make a special breakfast in bed for the two of you!

HollyGood for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

In honor of the American Music Awards, Give Back Hollywood Foundation hosted the “Night of Miracles” Benefit. Give Back Hollywood is a multimedia entertainment company that brings awareness to the charitable work that matters the most to celebrities. The event was held at the Siren Studios in Hollywood, where the attendees enjoyed an evening full of beauty, music and videos. In addition to having fun, the main purpose of the night was to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Thanks to social media, the attendees were able to have their followers support the foundation. In 2011 Children’s Miracle Network Hospital raised more than 4.3 billion dollars. The event hosted by Kevin Jonas and sponsored by Xbox Kinect Sports, also had several American Music Award winners performing, however the most beautiful moment of the night was the presentation of Eileen Garrido.  Miss Garrido is an eleven years old heart transplant with her own non-profit, “Beating Hearts Foundation” that helps other young heart transplants recipients.

Isn’t it beautiful to see how Eileen is able to help others at an age of 11? We at GLOW find this very inspiring and are wondering how you are giving back.

American Music Awards

Yesterday the 39th American Music Awards aired from the Nokia theatre in Los Angeles.  The AMAs are determined by a poll of music buyers, and as a result is more of a representative of public opinion. The big winners of this years AMAs include Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and Adele. Through the night, the audience enjoyed performances from Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Lopez, Kelly Clarkson, Justin Bieber and others.

Besides knowing who won what award, we were interested in the beautiful garments that pass on the red carpet. This year several lovely ladies ruled the red carpet by shimmering in metallic.

Innovation destinguishes leaders from followers. ‘Steve Jobs’

As most of you have already heard, Steve Jobs, the brain behind Apple's iPhone, iPad, iPod, iMac and iTunes, passed away on Wednesday 05.10.2011. His passion, energy and brilliance made countless innovations possible which have enriched and improve our lives. We at GLOW believe this man, that represented his company in every single way, was a precious gift to the world. We would like to honor his memory by noting some of his famous quotes.

‘Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.’

‘Sometimes when you innovate, you make mistakes. It is best to admit them quickly, and get on with improving your other innovations.’

‘You can't just ask customers what they want and then try to give that to them. By the time you get it built, they'll want something new.’

‘It's really hard to design products by focus groups. A lot of times, people don't know what they want until you show it to them.'

‘No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet, death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it, and that is how it should be, because death is very likely the single best invention of life. It's life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new.'

Steve Jobs, May You Rest in Peace.
